What is a Young Life Leader?

In Young Life, we believe that Jesus Christ is the strongest, most attractive personality to ever grace the earth. A Young Life leader is someone who pro-actively steps into the lives teenagers and college students to love and build genuine relationships with them. In The Bible, Jesus went to where people were, so Young Life leaders go to where kids and young adults are, especially to those who are disinterested in a relationship with God. Leaders love kids authentically and earn the right to share the love of Jesus through their life-on-life interactions.

  Leadership Training:

For College Students:  All new leaders go though a course that involves a training class that meets once per week for one semester. We offer training in the fall and in the spring semesters. At the end of the semester, we have a fun celebration, Leader Placement Night, in which the new leaders are welcomed by their new team.

For Adults: Upperclassman and adults who want to be leaders are taken through the Young Life leader training manual over the course of a few weeks.  This can be done through a small group of other individuals going through the process at the same time, or one-on-one with a leader at a time that fits with your schedule. The training is followed by an interview and placement on a team.
